In memory of Inma Bernal

In pieces, in eyelids, in moments, in dreams.

On my friend's tombstone is written this poem by Mario Benedetti, her favorite poet.

In September 2017 I took this self-portrait to honor his memory.

In February 2024 I embroidered it to continue honoring her.

Because your friendship filled my life.

Because his death marked my path.

Because his soul guides mine.

I still remember you.

I still love you.
